Tribute to South African comfort food, this cookie is made with mielie meal (maize meal), giving it a slightly grainy, cornbread-like texture.

The centre is filled with a rich and chunky real tomato smoor, slow-cooked with onions, garlic, and a hint of spice, offering a deep, smoky tomato flavour in contrast to the slightly sweet, hearty dough.
